For the past 35 years, Chase Custom Homes & Finance, Inc. has been building homes in Maine. We have developed many subdivisions throughout southern, central and western Maine and more importantly, built homes for a lot of fine people and their families. Maine is a big state with a small town heart. If we didn't take good care of our clients, we wouldn't still be in business. Period.

After 34 years, we remain a small, family-owned business and tight-knit team. Our business has survived two recessions and downturns in the real estate market. In an industry often associated with mistrust, we've built a steady stream of repeat business from customer referrals. Chase Custom Homes has built more than one home for many of our clients. Our goal is to build relationships as well as we build homes.

Meet the Team

John F. Chase

Owner & CEO

After a successful career with the Westbrook Police Department detective unit, John decided to pursue his interest in real estate development and construction. Growing up in Portland, he was inspired by his grandfather who was a local painter and carpenter. He would tell him, "Johnny, if you're going to do something, you better do it right." He established Chase Custom Homes & Finance in 1986. John has also held his mortgage license and is licensed real estate broker. He's always looking for the next promising parcel of land to develop or a commercial space to transform into a thriving new business. He enjoys spending free time with his family at the lake.

Bill Noone


A life-long Mainer, Billy grew up in South Portland. He's been in the construction, housing and real estate fields for over 28 years and is completely committed to giving his clients top-quality service. Billy currently resides with his family in Naples and is an accomplished musician!

Josh Chase

Vice President

Josh joined the family at a young age. He worked his way up from laborer to construction foreman. His role is hands-on, he is in the field, communicating with subcontractors, vendors and customers. He enjoys taking clients through the final finish steps of their new home. Josh also manages the Auto Shine Car Wash locations in Topsham and Windham.

Nick Moulton

Assistant Project Manager

Nick has many years of experience as an electrician in the residential and commercial fields. He has always enjoyed the home building process and hands-on construction management. He enjoys collaborating with subcontractors, vendors and clients and seeing a project through from start to finish.

Teri Chase

Executive Assistant

Teri is a graduate of Andover College. She has an Associate Degree in Applied Sciences and majored in Secretarial Sciences. She has been with the Chase Team for more than 15 years. She is a proud mother and grandmother. She loves to spend time with her family and travel, especially to warm destinations.

Joyce Sobus

Transaction Coordinator

Joyce is a graduate of Andover College with a degree in business administration. She has over 25 years of administrative and customer service experience in commercial construction, real estate and title research. She is excited to be back with the Chase Custom Homes Team and is looking forward to working with customers and real estate agents as Transaction Coordinator. She enjoys skiing, biking and spending time with family and friends. You can also find her adorable Golden-doodle Henley in tow in all of her adventures.

Ciarra Chase

Office Manager

Ciarra and her family have experienced our building process firsthand and now proudly reside in their own Chase Custom Home! Ciarra's bubbly, outgoing personality makes her a perfect addition to the team as Office Manager. She enjoys spending time with her family and taking her 4 year old son on adventures.

Alexis Erlandson

Marketing Manager

Meet Alexis, the newest addition to the Chase family. Alexis graduated from Emmanuel College with a major in Communications and Media Studies, as well as a minor in Photography. She recently moved back to Maine after spending six years in Boston, and is very happy to be back in her home state. In her free time Alexis enjoys hiking, skiing, and traveling. She is very excited to help the Chase business grow!

Polly Darasz

Administrative Assistant

Polly has over 20 years of experience in administrative and customer service roles from corporate to municipal government. She is a down to earth professional who looks forward to meeting and working with all the future Chase Custom Homes clients! She enjoys spending time with her family, watching her two children play soccer and lacrosse, and taking long walks with her Bluetick hound named "Blue".
